Gabion box is the most ideal material for slope stabilization, erosion control, channel lining and reinforcing, bank protection, earthwork structural unit, etc.. After filled with rocks, gabion box can be placed to the project site for form a structures for retaining walls for commercial, industrial and road projects. The construction of double twisted hexagonal wire mesh reinforced by the selvedges of heavier wire makes gabion box a flexible yet be able to keep it shape. The rectangular shape along with proper diagram enables the gabion build a regular in any project site. Pre-assembled gabion units for fast installation save tremendous workforce and time, which will benefit the project process a lot. Except for woven gabion mesh, we are also experienced at welded gabion box.

Standards & Common Specifications
Gabion mesh is available in a variety of different specs, including wire thickness, opening size, box dimension and material grade. Consisting of hexagonal wire mesh, gabion box is divided into cells with diagrams in 1 meter or 3ft intervals. The diagram reinforces the structures of gabion box.
We follow the major international standard in our manufacturing process.
ASTM 975 Standards:
Style 1 Galvanized wire as per ASTM A 641, class 3 soft temper
Style 2 Same as style 1 with extra coating with PVC.
Style 3 Zn-5Al or Zn-10Al coated wire as per ASTM A 856, also known as Galfan wire.
EN 10223-3 Standard:
Galvanized wire meets EN 10244-2 and old BS 443
Wire tensile strength is between 380N/mm2 and 550N/mm2 as per BS 1052.
Our Tolerance Standard:
On the hexagonal double-twisted wire mesh, size of opening should not exceed +/-5% on the nominal dimension

Packing and Loading:
For easy handling and transportation, gabion box is usually shipped in bundle. The gabion box is folded and pressed into bundle, and then strapped with steel or nylon bandage. In this way, the gabion box package is in smallest dimension with suitable unit weight. Gabion is usually fitted into 40ft container to maximize the freight cost.
The installation is relatively easy then other similar material. It is briefly introduced as the following steps. For more installing and designing, please send inquiry for detailed documents.
Step #1: Assembly
Unpack the gabion bundles→Unfold each gabion panel→Fold to form a regular box→Lace at the selvage wire with binding wire provided
Step #2: Forming the Structure
Level the working ground→Carry and place the gabion as designed→Wire up the gabions aside
Step #3: Stretching gabions before filling
Place the stretching bars at each corner→Fix the bars to stretch the gabion→Check the wiring after Stretching
Step #4: Filling rocks
Fill the gabion by rocks with proper sizes→Level the rocks surface in the gabion→Close and secure the lid by binding wire provided
General Assortments and Applications
Reno Mattress is a typical gabion box used for riverbank protection. The thickness/height is less than 500mm comparing normal gabion box.
This type is particularly applied as slope forming. Faced by gabion and reinforced by roll mesh, terra mesh gives the slope project firm soil stabilization property.
Welded Gabion Box
Made of steel wire, welded gabion box is in different treatment types, such as HDG wire, HDG after manufacturing, powder coating, etc.. Instead of lacing wire in woven gabion, for welded gabion box, each panel is connected by spiral tensile wire to form a box structure. Comparing to woven hexagonal gabion, welded gabion box is more rigid in shape. By covered with certain geotextile inside, welded gabion box is the ideal material for build up a defensive barrier fast and easily in military combat. We have been producing this design since the developing stage of HESCO barrier.

How to install welded gabion mesh?
Step 1. Ends, diaphragms, front and back panels are placed upright on the bottom section of wire mesh.
Step 2. Secure panels by screwing spiral binders through the mesh openings in adjacent panels.
Step 3. Stiffeners shall be placed across the corners, at 300mm from the corner. Providing a diagonal bracing, and crimped over the line and cross wires on the front and side faces. None are needed in interior cells.
Step 4. Gabion box is filled with graded stone by hand or with a shovel.
Step 5. After filling, close the lid and secure with spiral binders at the diaphragms, ends, front and back.
Step 6. When stacking tiers of the welded gabion mesh, the lid of the lower tier may serve as the base of the upper tier. Secure with spiral binders and add pre-formed stiffeners to exterior cells before filling with graded stones.
